I’ve given up waiting and when I got a DVD recorder, I simply made my own from my original off-air VHS; better than nothing, I thought. Made myself a simple cover for it and everything;
Blimey, cancelled on the day!
What a terrible shame- I do hope they can try again sometime? 🙁
Can I have fries with that?! 😀
Yup, that clip is of the commercially available Lancaster add-on for Microsoft’s FS2004 by ‘Just Flight’, though the online downloadable payware Lancaster from ‘Plane Design’ is much better!
Still, nothing even remotely approaching film quality in CG rendering, anyway.
Would have to be a Stirling for me, taking it’s place in a fantasy Hendon Bomber Hall where the lights are always on, and aircraft are dusted from time to time.
Spurious links. Not necessarily always hilarious.
Agreed- pointless, and not even funny. Less of the time wasting, please.
Congratulations!
(Though any Gnat I spy these days I view as a potential parts store for the Bluebird restoration! :p )
Happy Landings! 😉
…the Lanc was displaying for veterans…
Well, that’s different then. You’ll hear no further grizzling from me. (And I wasn’t even there!)
The one worthwhile reason to get 558 into the air for and it is missed. It’s sad but it is hoped that after so much of people’s time and money has been invested in the project that it does indeed take to the air.
I agree entirely- just seems frankly ridiculous that literally years of effort come down to what amounts to a last-minute rush, and the missing of one of the big selling points of getting it flying again by, one assumes, a few weeks/month or two.
Can’t see a Vulcan on that Falklands flypast list…how much money has it cost for it not to be ready?
Great videos jackattack, I particularly enjoyed the Lanc landing one! 🙂
As for the Lanc being elsewhere this was an RAF show and should have had top priority.
Absolutely. I hate to criticise such a beloved organisation, one which I support whole-heartedly, but the Lanc has displayed at Cosford many times before, so not being able to land there was nothing new and should have been planned around, and an RAF show really should have been given priority at the planning stage.
My word, what a lovely event that looks like! 🙂
