I haven’t looked what it was doing instead so may be speaking out of turn, but for an RAF show- and one of the few reamainging ones, at that- to not get an automatic tick when the Lanc’s year is being planned is a great- and surprising- shame. 😮

Hey, great, I really appreciated seeing the Blenheim update! What a nice chap Smudge seems; I’ve only ever seen him on various videos, but he comes over as a lovely chap. Shame the Blenheim is going so slowly, but going it is, so that’s something.

That colour picture of the 149 squadron Stirling being ‘pushed’ is very familiar to me; I have an original B&W copy of that, which my Grandad (who was ground crew on that squadron throughout the war) acquired at the time. He’s not in the photo, he kept out of shot- just as he did when ‘Target For Tonight’ was being filmed. If only he’d been in it! 😮

Breaks the heart that there’s an airworthy, genuine 109 sat dripping oil and gathering dust in the gloom at Hendon. 😡

Ah, the infamous Chinese Shor Stirwing!

Looking forward to seeing these replica Lancs.

Grrr, why is it always so hard for people to grasp this?!

Isn’t it obvious, it’s a Memorial Flight in the NAME of the RAF’s major battle honour, i.e.the Battle Of Britain, not a memorial flight solely FOR the Battle!

I expect the BBMF are happy with what they have- indeed, Fluffy and co. are rebuilding another Spit to eventually join the Flight- but a better balance of Hurricanes to go with the Spits would be good, yes.

Well, tragically Black 6 is now a silent dust collector at Hendon, so we’ll never know, but I for one wouldn’t object in principal to the BBMF operating such an aircraft, and introducing a little gentle enemy tail chasing into their usual routine.

Wasn’t homing Black 6 with the BBMF considered, but rejected as an idea on the grounds that they simply wouldn’t be able to justify having an ‘enemy’ aircraft on the flight?

I was surprised to see her down- albeit, ‘TBC’- on the Yeovilton website, too.
