Looking forward to hearing the diagnosis on the patient direct from Dr. Fluffy!
Thanks again, Ant-I totally missed that thread previously!
Poor BBMF, they must be sweating buckets this week.
Oh, blimey…I’d better go check out that Southend thread after all!
Cheers, Ant.
Aw, crap, no. Super-glad the pilot is okay and the aircraft apparently not too badly damaged; they’ve been through quite enough with LF363 as it is!
What happened to PM631 then, too? Not heard about that one.
Ah, s**t.
😡
FM159…one of Avro’s finest, Merlins, and the aroma of gently burning meat…
😀
Yeesh, that camshaft looks like it’s been on my barbeque!!! 😮
Nah, that Hendon perch only cost £3.50, didn’t it?! 😉
Clearly, they were undercover birds; don’t you recognise an FBI Special Agent Starling when you see one?
(Silence Of The Lambs gag, that one) 😉
Blimey!!! 😮 😀
dhfan’s post (No.92) says it all for me, too.
Mein Hund hat keine Nase!
Wie riecht er?
Furchtbar!
:p
Maybe people should realise that the freedom to criticise was bought for them by people like Vic…
I’m sorry, but I think such comments are just going way too far in this case. The programme was highly shoddy, simple as that; there seems to be a school of thought that will accept ANYTHING written/transmitted, no matter how awful, in the name of ‘it will teach our kids’ or ‘they won us this freedom…’
Yes, fair comments both, but again, no excuse for a totally crap programme!
…whilst simultaneously highlighting your own lack of understanding of the pressures of live TV…
Personally speaking, I understand this very well, thank you very much, well enough to know that the show on C5 was, simply, embarrassing rubbish. 😡
Absolutely agreed with David there.
We here all know, understand and love what comes out of a crash dig, but it’s another thing to try and impress Joe Public with a few mangled bits of scrap. The rest of the show thus needed to be really good to support the dig, and alas, it wasn’t. It wasn’t even remotely good, to be honest.
John Romain would indeed have been great on his own in France, and again, the Time Team Spitfire dig show showed how things SHOULD be done.
Bad show, Channel 5. 🙁
For some reason, the whole thing reminded me of that classic Brit Awards show, with Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood presenting!
Really, it was an embarrassing shambles, and like dhfan, my VHS is already re-wound ready for something else to go over it!
The ‘Time Team’ Spitfire dig from France a couple of years or so back was an example of how to do it properly, and what a brilliant show that was; even allowing for last minute changes and lack of rehaearsal, the C5 show was still dreadful.
Think I’ll go and re-watch that Time Team today! 🙂
