‘They Who Dare’ has a whole squadron of Italian Savoia-Marchetti SM79 bombers waiting to be blown up.

The broken Click HERE for P-47s at Bodney link is now at this location.
I am using the new Halifax video to test HD playback so it may come and go.
I saw it last night and was very disappointed, the last half hour was particularly unnecessary. For a one and a half hour documentary on 90 years of the RAF there were very few shots of aircraft.

This is a very short clip of a Miles Messenger featured in ‘633 squadron’
There’s a chap building a Snipe here in Victoria with a radial engine. a Rotec engine would be another new practical radial option, but may have certification issues in the UK.
The chaps in the Scottish Aviation preservation society at East Fortune are using a Rotec 3600 radial engine in thier Sopwith Strutter replica.

Yes I did pay to get in £21 including parking (I believe in supporting these events and not hanging about outside, also you have to pay the full amount to park your car.
I watched/Videoed from the end of the main runway, which is marked as the centre of the display line. There were very view people watching (less than 20 and most of them were the fire crew) this had the advantage of little crowd noise and no commentary ideal.
The BBMF always make it to RAF Leuchars air show, and the reason for that is that they can land there. One of the problems at East Fortune is that the airfield land owners won’t allow aircraft to land. Also the flight line is from North to South with high trees at either end, this tends to push the aircraft to a higher level with the crowd huddled at one end of the display. The airshow would be better if it ran east to west along the main runway with THE SUN (No Show) at the crowd’s backs.
The 2000 Festival of Flight airshow over three days was brilliant, with aircraft landing at the site and the crowd getting a close view of the aircraft. Over the years the show has become very stale and lacking imagination in the air and on the ground with virtually the same line up of aircraft every year for example I have never seen Classic Flights Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer attend the show considering its connection should have been a must or a Gyroplane an aspect of aviation which I think gets ignored at airshows over all a good effort but could be better.
Well that convinces me to upgrade to High Definition (prosumer perhaps). Certainly puts my efforts to shame.

I think I will wait for the Blue Ray to come out to experience the full richness of sight and sound well done to all concerned.
