The Fokker was built by scaling up from photos, but due to an error, in its first manifestation the fuselage was rather too long.
It flew as such for a while, but subsequently got chopped and the length was reduced. I wonder if the photo above is of the ‘stretched’ Fokker.
Hang on, that IS G-AVEB.
It was repainted in the early 90’s.
That aeroplane was not the one in the film.

The pic above is from the collection of Peter Fitzmaurice, who was a great aviation enthusiast, and was sadly lost in the Nord accident near Andover in September 2009.
Thanks for those Comet4, very nostalgic for us locals. I can’t remember if G-AVEB ( the other 230 ) was still at Booker at that time.
Welcome to the forum.
It looks as bit like this one.

As I recall, it weighs about 4 tons :p
These are historic tugs, and should be operated as such. Visitors to Duxford don’t need to see them hurtling about, and performing high-stress manoeuvres, as some sort of extension of the driver’s ego. Everybody knows that at Duxford, they like to have a quick tug..
They should be restricted to straight and level operation, with no more than 1 G, as is the case with the B o B Memorial Flight, who hardly ever let theirs go inverted.
Chauchesku gunned down by a frezied mob.
Saddam Hussein sentenced to hang.
Gadaffi executed by revolutionaries……..
Maybe Despotic Dictator is not the hot career choice it once was :diablo:
Castro should be OK, as he has not really oppressed Cuba, just held it in a time warp. Mugabbe, though, it really is high time he got the ‘good news’ !
As for dear Muammar, there will be few tears shed for him in Lockerbie tonight, or indeed anywhere. Those fuzzie wuzzies, they don’t like it up ’em !

It is widely known he lives at Woodchurch, Kent.
His house is at the airstrip.

Looks as though only one was any help !;)
A Mustang emulating Ray Hanna- looks like Duxford as well.
Me too. And they told me I should be buying Viagra.
They know everything 🙁
Our very own ‘X-Files’
In the current issue of FlyPast, containing the extensive article on this aeroplane there seems ( to my quick-ish scan ) to be NO MENTION of input from ARCo, yet photographs were widely seen of the complete fuselage being trucked away from Duxford recently.
There is plenty of info online about VMI Engineering who seem to have played a part.

Is this another subject upon which certain questions are not welcome?
