Not news, not funny, not interesting, not worth posting.
Are you by any chance related ? Frankly, I’d rather have prizes.
Welcome aboard, btw (assuming this isn’t an advert!)
I always start my maps with the very best of intentions, to cherish and protect them for all time.
Then they end up getting borrowed to make (for instance) an impromtu cockpit cover for a Tiger Moth parked out in a monsoon, or to wrap up some airfield-fresh mushrooms, or repelling aggressive insects, and sometimes for looking at, to see where I have been.
Not a bad photo at all! I think you got your ride just in time, given recent troubling events in the AT-6/Harvard world.
I was not specific-plenty of pilots linger hereabouts. I have even heard of some pilots who take photographs, not to mention photographers who mutate into pilots!
Well, I couldn’t see out of a Chippy when I flew them with the ATC, aged 13.
God knows what Charlie saw!! Still, good effort.
17/12/03 What a day! 1,000K viz, nil wind, slow-rolling a Tiger at 3,000 ft and three cheers for the Wright Brothers.
Well, why not.
‘Stone the crows, guv’nor, it’s one of then perishin’ Spitfires!’
White Waltham Aug 04 (like anyone cares…)
Its funny how the aviation bug seems to filter through the generations- I caught it from my father in the very early years, but managed to filter out the old lorries and railways, which were parallel obsessions. Whilst his interest was theorectical, I wanted to actually fly the things, and that has become a reality.
Propstrike junior has been eagerly involved with aeroplanes from an early age, and he may well choose to take it further. I wonder if private flying will be recognisable in 20 years or so, or if we will all have been grounded for ‘safely’ or ‘environmental’ reasons.
Then again, perhaps there will be a still be a training fleet of trusty old Cessna 150’s and PA 28’s! Somehow, I suspect there might….
There seems to be an element of Chinese whispers going on- surely the whole situation could be clarified if Mrs Mark12 would simply introduce Mr MarK12 to P. Arnold Esq, with whom she seems reasonably well-aquainted.
It does make you wonder just how much Spitfire gossip she seems to need.
Just wait until we all have mandatory transponders, and the controller is looking at a screen with 200 blips swirling around, and wondering what to do next.
But we can forget the looK-out, and sit back in complete confidence, because our airspace is now 100% safe, isn’t it. ISN’T IT ?
Looks as though it would rather be a tail-dragger- Must have had a few salad-dodgers poling it around!
Here is Scooby, nesting on the shed roof. A ‘Rescue’ cat, very good natured and tolerant of overly affectionate children.

Good luck with the course, I am sure you will have a great time.
I am amazed at the size of the aerial on the top of Papa Yankee. It must have the clearest reception ever.
It’ll be all white on the night! Nice and quick to mask up.
