Damned if you do, damned if you don’t , you will never keep everyone happy, hence this thread.

I auditioned to be a commentator for Brian Lecomber’s Firebird Team years ago, and even though I know plenty, I was rubbish. Which is why a certain M Hiscock got the gig!

There are so many pitfalls, distractions, crib-sheets blowing away, and thousands of know-alls behind the rope ready to work themselves into a frenzy of loathing and recrimination at any mistake or misinterpretation.

We should cherish and encourage our poor downtrodden commentators. When they are right nobody hears, and when they are wrong, no one forgets.:)

We, also have weekly air force reviews ! My old precious Corgi models got winkled out of deep storage, and somehow ended up ‘in service’ with all the ‘battle damage’ you would expect. Oh well …..

Saw the Beech 18 & low wing monoplane over old Hatfield airfield at about 14.15. Assumed it was a CJ-6, as I’ve seen them over here before. Sadly, no bins or camera to hand.

The Beech owner is back from overseas for a few weeks, and flying ( out of White Waltham ) quite frequently. An upcoming article for Pilot on the Nanchang has needed air/air photos and the Beech has been a good photo platform, but four weeks….. how many photos do they need? 😉
