I wonder if there is a way to take moulds, and perhaps replace vulnerable bronze artiifacts with resin replacements, which would look acceptable, but have no resale value.

I have seen film props of this sort of thing which are most authentic-looking.

Though various Buchons have flown in the States with the CAF and others, it is probably reasonable to suppose that the type has more resonance in Europe, and is thus more likely to attract the interest and investment needed to return them to flight, especially in Germany, and even more especially if some of those crated DB601 are chucked into the deal as a sweetener !

A lovely show, most atmospheric. Even the Vulcan made it ok, but surprising it was kept holding for 7 mins whilst an RV4 cavorted. It must have burned £500 of JetA1.

The Slingsby pilot did a VERY energetic performance, with a L O N G spin and flicks at maybe 400 feet, great but rather alarming.

With no tickets to be had, some folks went into the fields and bridleways. The marshalls came down with their collecting buckets, and pretty much everyone was lobbing in some cash, which was nice to see.

Give me Little Gransden over RIAT any day !

Somebody yelled ”Here they come, right over the trees. They’re coming straight at us ! ”

And so they were, straight over the top of Popham airfield , at perhaps 300 feet. The fighters were out there on the wingtips, but all eyes were on the big black bombers.
The formation was headed to ‘Carfest’, about 5 fields north of the airfield, and could be seen turning around, up by the Kingsclere mast before running back in over the showground, and back through the overhead at Popham , destination ( I think ) Dunsfold.

Fan-bloody-tastic !

If they route direct from Popham to Little Gransden tomorrow I might even see them again over Amersham / Chesham as it is bang on track ! :eagerness:
