That Tiger ended up at Booker with Tigerfly for many years.
After it crash landed near Henley-on-Thames it went Meier Motors in Germany, and can be seen on the long-running forum thread.
Brilliant shot !
I love this Forum 🙂
This is ,of course, Gary Numan’s old mount.
Here is a piece on his display flying, and thoughts on his Harvard.
”Some people at Chichester own my old Harvard. They use it all the time and it’s still in the same colours that I painted it. I’ve got a boat now, and I’ve been out in it a few times and my old aeroplane has come over. It’s like seeing your ex with another man. I might buy it back one day, though I’d need to sell a few more albums.”
Tiger Moths ? Piper Cubs ?
What about a Swordfish made in 1938, or a Corsair made in 1946 ?
Do you mean any aircraft constructed in that period?
There’s about 60 Spits, 200 Mustangs, 30 B.25’s, 10 B.17’s
Love those shots of the P38 in the snow 🙂
Welcome to the Forum, gumuken. Are you based in Greenland?
Hello Peter
Not so much as a “need” to know but since reading many of the threads —–
My apologies if I have I stepped on anybodies toes asking the question but I was not aware that it was such a sensitive area .
Regards
Jay
Surely study of the ‘many threads’ makes it CRASHINGLY obvious that this is, indeed, a sensitive area.
A Burmese Spitfire:)
And the Short-nosed Blenheim.
And the Comet racer
And the Twin Pioneer
For nimble, take a look at this barnstorming DC-4! Not quite a Six, but a close relation. 😉
G-AHBL De Havilland D.H.87B Hornet Moth
”Another well known Hornet Moth was this one owned by Doctor Ursula Hamilton who originally flew it from Baginton later moving to Doncaster, the aircraft was once fitted with floats and wore serial P6786,once a fitter wanted to remove the original float attachment fittings but Doctor Hamilton would not hear of this as she pointed out it was part of the aircrafts unique history and they must stay! The aircraft suffered a stall on landing at Henry Labourchers strip atTibenham and was badly damaged, however it has been repaired and is flying once again for all to enjoy ”
I believe that Sunday is the better choice, given that the traffic may be a little lighter, and many of us will be forced into pre-christmas shopping on the Saturday.
I would suggest meeting at 1.00 pm, so that those who want to stop for lunch can do so before-hand , at one of the two so-called restaurants. If we do not assemble until 2.00, the afternoon is a bit short for those who need to travel home some distance.
A good spacious place to gather is the Milestones of Flight Hall, and say, meet in front of the Mustang (which is on the pedestal ) . The common feature of previous meets ( especially at legends ) is peoples’ reluctance to identify themselves . We really need at least a badge/label with real or forum name.
Without a formal agenda, we could have a general mooch round, and then all gather for a coffee at a 3.00 pm
Admission is free, but parking is £2.50 for 3 hours.
Anyone who wants to offer any sort of lift-share could post up on here where they are coming from.
A really impressive and enduring memorial, and so generous of the builders to donate their time.

Very canny.
Good idea to sell quickly, before dozens of new projects appear on the market;)
I have my Father’s Aeroplane Spotters (mag) from WW2, complete set.
What do I win ? 😉
I have tolerance in abundance. People can worship whomsoever they wish, in whatever manner they choose. They can prostrate themselves before the pixie in the volcano for all I care. I leave them to it.
But some of them don’t want to leave ME alone, and will threaten and bomb and kill, and that threat, to all that we cherish, is real.
If the middle east ‘goes nuclear’ ( Iran/Israel et al ) if may be the start of a process that impacts upon our lives in ways we have barely considered. Do you have to be nuts to buy into the whole ‘Religion deal ‘ ? Not necessarily, but it certainly helps.
