I’ve always had an interest in this since I read about in an early Flypast and I recalled a “made for TV movie” called Sole Survivor about a crashed B-25 crew awaiting rescue, which when it eventually comes in the shape of (IIRC) an oil crew makes them realise that they are ghosts and one can’t go home as they don’t find his body (under the ‘plane).

…..and starring a one James Tiberius Kirk (aka William Shatner) 😀

JP’s XM419 and XM355, Jetstream G-BBYM, 1-11 G-AZMF and Aztec N79LW are aircraft not in the public domain. They are owned financially by Newcastle Aviation Academy, but are under my custodianship as the facility engineer. Please remove as required.

I think best to leave that call to ‘Rocketeer’ as it’s his thread.

    Jon,

Feel free to copy, paste and re-post the list with suitable deletions.

Certainly i would agree that Canberra WH773 is not suitable, and i wouldn’t think the wing spar remanants of Dakota TS436 are either.

Can ayone enlighten me on the provenance of JayPee’s XM355 and XM419 ?

Just to check what is the qualifyinng criteria for this?

I thought it was projects that were owned by individuals and not stuff in museums yet looking through the list that doesnt appear to be the case.

    Jon,

To quote Tony’s first post of the thread….. ” We have lots of people with lots of lovely projects on this forum, how about doing a Virtual Air Museum of our projects, maybe with pictures at a later date? Simple rules, take the list as it stands and add your project(s) alphabetically.”

I’m not aware of any on the list belonging to a museum. I certainly haven’t added any i’m aware of. Which examples dont you think fit Tony’s remit then ?

Along the flightline, bang opposite the raised train track & steam loco giving rides up & down.

    Martin,

Indeed, a big “thanks” to all those forumites who dropped by today or stopped for a chat and in some cases put faces to names at last…. Rocketeer, Fly.Buy, XF940, Stringbag, Merkle, Pure Lightning, Westland Scout, Alvampman, GeeDee, T6Flyer, Air Ministry and probably a few more also 😮

And to Andy (HMS Vulture) for co-stalling, we could take a shine to this ‘jumble lark 😀

    Cheers…..
