I saw a Jet Airways A330-200 parked on a remote stand!:D
Does anyone know what each was doing at LGW today?
Do you think Jet Airways could be considering LGW as a base for more services, there are no scheduled services to India from LGW, it would be a great I think!
At a complete guess, I would imagine the Jet Airways was a divert from LHR?
Wow, Si! Stunning pictures, I love the underside shots!
The Scot Airways shot is great – if you could do a little sharpening on it you would have a BEAUTIFUL shot. The lighting is fantastic as well!
Here are the first lot of ‘tickets’ for the very first A380 SIA flight:

For around (I think) £125,000 you will get…..
Yeah, I’ll just go to my small change jar…
I’ll wait for easyjet/ryanair to buy an A380 and I’ll fly with them…
Wow. 😮 Certainly wasnt expecting to see the two Russian entries. They are all absolutely superb. 🙂
thanks for the replies!
Ok, I’m thinking that music in large halls and departure lounges (like check in areas), which are not uncommon in airports, wouldnt work. So, how about music played in walkways, and piers or places similar to, for example Manchesters Skywalk, or Gatwicks huge new pier bridge?
How about, and this may sound silly – musicians. I’m thinking along the lines of the entertainers on the London Underground (ok, so they’re buskers), but also the performers that you find in city squares or large shopping centres.
I’m trying to think of ways to cheer up the average traveller and make their journey through the terminal more ‘interesting’.
thanks for the replys so far, I’m thinking that music around certain areas of the airport terminal would make the whole experience a little easier. Any specific areas in particular that you think music might just be nice to hear? check-in? I can understand that music might be a little distracting in security control areas and queues.
Oh, and i dont know whether or not you got my text message….basically, phone unlocked + pocket + your name at the end of the phone book = call from the pocket! ever so sorry.
Sam
I didnt get your text message, but I have had two strange calls from someone in Huddersfield this evening – I answered both times but the person on the other end said nothing – I just heard the tap tap tapping of a keyboard. lol
Really very nice shots Paul! I like the 1st shot, and the side-on 757 shots are cool to! At what times did you take the 1st two shots?
Wow. I bet the original take off was an experience and a half! You lucky so and so! 🙂
A cracking set of captures Mark, especially the Saudi shot 🙂
What really surprises me, and in some way annoys/angers me (I know that sounds silly) is the apparent speed at which it took the fire and rescue services to respond. Working in an airport myself and seeing day to day operations, I should expect the airport airfield fire service to respond pretty damn quick.
The first sign of any response on scene (from what I can see on the videos) is only after the aircraft has stopped, is fully evacuated, has ‘exploded’, and split in two. That (ok, so we don’t know the full details), quite frankly, is bloody awful.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but, in the UK atleast, fire and rescue must respond and attend within 3 minutes of an incident first occuring?
Sam, before I saw these photos, I really wanted to come and visit you in D.C. But now, I really really really really REALLY can’t wait to come over and say hi…!
The ones of Capitol Hill are my favourite. 🙂

wow. what an experience. I would love to do something similar to what you have done, flying in floatplanes and the scenery is stunning. one day, maybe. an excellent collection of photos as well! 🙂
If that is indeed a volcano in Washington, could it be Mount St. Helens?
thanks for the comments guys!:)
dragonair cargo also cool…where did you shoot that from? either it was further down the runway or a very early rotation hehe:D
all of the shots were taken from the 23L rotation point but the Dragonair and the Delta were captured as they climbed out of 23R.
