RE: Share your airline (unpleasant) experiences

Only on emergency situations are bad for me. Landing in SCQ in winter tends to be a bit bumpy and rough sometimes. So in winter plenty of aborted landings, fogs, rough touch downs, one wind sheer, one punchure on landings with racks opening…etc. Other moments: an aborted take off in Luton (B737-200, British Airtours), a big thunderstorm in Cuba flying an Antonov, a sandstorm in Assuam fying an Air Sinai B737-200 again. Taking off from Seville, a despresurization problem and landing again….new AEA B737-300 again (I really hate this plane) and being a child an stopped on fying from Lisbon to Brazil on a TAP B707. Nothing too spectacular.

RE: BA – What to expect?

It depends. Crews tend to be regular in terms of friendly despite the ugle uniform. Pilots quite informative, planes remain clean and fit.
Food it´s OK. Good in general terms but nothing spectacular.

RE: Ryanair sign 10 year agreement for new base

I sent you an email. Did you receive it?. Well, I have to say, that new John Lennon terminal is open and it´s spectacular. Bright, airy and quite smart. It´s quite wise using just aluminium and glass in places where thére´s not much light. Despite I don´t really like the B737, I quite enjoyed the brand new B737-700. The MAD-LPL flight was quiet…and that was unusual because of the gales of the area. The flight back was in the same B737-700, but it wasn´t as enjoyable since both the take off and flight was in the middle of thick fog and lack of visibility. Something about service. Despite having to pay, Easyjet Snack bar remains quite dull in terms of variety and quite a bit too expensive. On the tarmac a lovely Electra from Atlantic Airlines and a F27 from Farnair and many, many Easyjet.

LPL increase in terms of passengers is quite promising, but I think Ryanair is going too fast and could collapse. They are being too risky specially after purchasing so many planes. Too low costs competing is not profiable for any of them. They should think in joining or cooperating. In LPL, they had separate niches but I don´t see a good idea Ryanair getting in Easyjet destinations. Bad for both and for the airport.

    Absurd

It´s as funny and absurd as a Austin Powers film. CIA should know that Chinese are not so stupid for nor discover such attack to privacy. And Chinese shouldn´t get surprised that CIA (accepting they did it) had taken advantage of this to set micros. Just order an A330 which is as good as a B767.

RE: bmi British Midland set up low cost subsiduary

BMI already sells ticket at unbeatable prices. So I don´t see needs to build such a risky thing. When a regular airline (high costs) wants to create a lower cost one is for specific purposes and these are shifting flights operated at higher costs to its lower cost version and safe lots of money. They tend to reduce the sice of the higher cost airline and operate most of the flights in lower cost version. Thats what Spanair is doing over hear with Spanair Link.

    RE: A321 or B757???

Boeing has not fleet commondity. A pilot flying a Airbus could fly any Airbus. And about superiority, in anyway Boeing is superior. Simply different.

Poor guy. It´s really sad being so mentally unballanced. I am glad he hadn´t killed anyone. I feel sorry for his parents.

Bad ideas about A319…..?. The A319 is not so cost effective, but taking into account the big order and the impact that the purchase would have on the media, I would bet on a unbeatable price by airbus.

    RE: A321 or B757???

Comparing again planes¡, Both are great. In terms of technology the A321 is much more advanced. The B757 is more stable, but the A321 is more cost effective. In terms of personal tastes, externally the B757 is nicer, but inside the A321 is more confortable.

    RE: London City Airport

Great airport. I have had the pleasure of writing an article about it and visited it completely. It´s on a dock, and you could get great shots from the other side of the pond. If you use a 120 zoom you won´t have problems. The runways is a bit small and the glide is 5,5 so it gives you a very intense landing. No fingers, the but the terminal is small, airy, cosy and confortable. You won´t have to walk to much to the plane. It´s prefectly conected to the centre by tube, bus, or taxi. It´s a nice and hassle free experience. Lots of facilities.
