What I am sure, is that I would stop terrorising the population with the heavy bombardements. Not only physical casualties but the mental harm and disorders are pretty bad for them. I would siege, but of course I would let civilians get in or out and let food and water let in as well. Patient….anyone ever thought about liberating a small portion of Bagdad and setting a new capital, a new goverment of prestigious iraqis in the exile?. And trying to bring the whole thing into normal?. The rest of the city will fall without bombs. How long can militia resit in that situation?: How the Iraqi TV still works?: don´t the US have devices to broadcast own stuff to explain people his views?.

I could understand Rumsfeld distress about it. But the US administration, has been trying to make this trying not to upset the arab world too much. So these words would be OK in other situation, but now doesn´t help. I have never understood why the Iranians are soo naughty for the US (appart from humilliating then in the seventies). They are integrist….less than Saudi Arabia, women are opressed less than Saudi Arabia where they can´t drive or work for instance, they are starting to see hints of slight democratic hints, not Saudia Arabia, don´t support international terrorism as much as Saudi Arabia. Let´t think that no Alqaeda in Iran, only regional terrorist support (Yihad, Hamas), not like Saudi Arabia. I don´t understand. Syria…..a country which is making huge effords in entering in the let´s say “civilized world”, with Assad son softening the regime and being cautious in many aspects……why should we get the fruit before being riped?….I understand North Korea in the axis and probably Iraq…..but these two countries?. Iran is eager to negociate with the US, wants to be regular country, why this stance?.

Vortex, you are right. But you must go a bit further. The US was aware of all the weapons being taken into Iraq. dozens of countries broke the embargo, and I am sure the US companies too. But why Rumsfeld attitude NOW. I find his statements not convenient right now. The US is trying to make this war look humanitarian, liberating…in the arab world. So which are his intentions in threating other countries at the moment?. I find it a really clumpsy move. Why don´t concentrate on the campaign?. Other countries have been warned. Why two who are in the so called axil of evil?. Appart from a simplistic denounce, which wasn´t found by change…..why with such a virulence?. What does he want to imply?. I am quite confused.
