RE: war in Irak and the Franco/German resistance
Don´t think only Germans and French public oppinions don´t support the war, but all the single countries. I feel that they are the only ones to do what their populations want them to do. Why they do it?. well, they are powerful enough to say what they really feel. The rest of the european countries who have shown shy and a forced aproval are into a net of interests to support the US administration (for example, Spain the support and assistance of the White House in our fight against ETA, and the American support in the Ceuta and Melilla conflict with Morocco). Appart from listening to their citizens will, they have economic interests as far as France is concerned and in the case of Germany (which pacifism is quite strong) it would mean the end of Schroeder. Also, interpret it as a attempt to gain an independant outlook to the UN decissions, and to restore european dignity. Of course to lead the way for future european independence.
RE: My flights to UK
Uhhh, hard to say. Easyjet was about 62 euros, and BD was about the same. I was travelling on economy on BD, but due to that they needed seven passengers to distribute the load (we all were at the back), some of us were upgraded. The BD flight back was peanut and drinks, enough for a 45 minutes hop. Definitely regular airlines are adopting low cost tactics, if they can´t afford costs, they could slice the “low costs” earnings.

I didn´t particularly like the WTC and the former NY skyline with the towers. But as far as your question is concerned, NY authorities and people in general, think it would a big pschological impact for suvivors, who had to work in the same place, everyday. And a sad remembrance for all New Yorkers. So they prefer to turn a page and continue. Talking about architecture, in my city another extrevaganza is being built. A city of arts, which looks like a neolitic settlement. works are in process now. Bizarre, isn´t it?

RE: Same old Europe
Sauron why should we try to find any solution for other countries affairs?. I am for the ignoring tactics to make them come back to the civilized circle. I don´t think they dare to anything stupid, they just want a bit of atenttion. Let them find their way.

RE: Buzz launches flights to Almeria
The Easyjet diversion some weeks ago, was due to an emergency of a flight which was trying to avoid the French ATC strike, and overflying the city. Of course YAGO, Santiago is a wonderful city. Not many people appreciates architectural wonders….only sun.

RE: Libya to head UN’s Human Rights Commission
The UN is not a democracy club since many parts of the world are terrible regimes but need to have a kind of representation. This is bad, but for the moment is how the world works. Gaddafi regime hasn´t been particularly friend of democracy, tolerance or human rights, but let´s be pragmatical. They are making big effords in getting out of the old track, supporting terrorism, and approaching to the West. So if this helps to normalise the situation, let´s welcome it, and help them to achieve it.

RE: Please explain!!!…..Is it me?
Exactly what happens here, friend. Probably is a question of political image and electoralism. Unfortunately elderly are being neglected, day by day, in a stage of their lives which need extra love, care and protection, because they have given all to us and deserve some consideration when they can´t help themselves. Probably the solution as in mediterranean countries where family ties are much closer, is not sending them to live in a strange place and keeping them with us, being helped and assisted by the goverment. I am sure that´s cheaper for the state and they would prefer living surounded by their loved ones.
