Just for Moggy here is a pic of TA634 on it’s way from Speke to London Colney in about 1973(Pic taken in Timperley )
They more than saved it temporarily,Moggy! It was TA634 now beautifully preseved at the Mosquito Aircraft Museum at London Colney
The aircraft scrap was moved around a fair bit.I made 3 or 4 visits between 1975 and 1978 and different fuselages kept appearing from beneath non-aviation scrap(Very crushed though!).I do have another batch of slides somewhere,but at the moment I can’t locate them.
There was a public footpath that ran from the road across an open field and then ran alongside the yard.We used to run across this field as fast as we could ,hoping the woman with her dogs hadn’t seen us!If she hadn’t seen you,you were ok,but if she found you in the yard you were in BIg,BIG,trouble!
