Nice shots again, Dan. I’ll leave any suggestions to those with more experience and expertise than me. 🙂
What lens do/did you normally use on your 400D, if you don’t mind me asking? It’s just that I’m thinking of making a re-appearance at some airports with my equipment soon and am contemplating getting some new gear – obviously want to make sure I make the right decisions etc..
Blimey, the NTSB are certainly much more forthcoming with information post accident than the AAIB seem to be.
Peter’s post above definately seems to sum up my latest feelings, ie the autopilot could auto disconnect if it couldn’t ‘cope’ anymore. Deano will undoubtedly know way more than most of us, though.
Robbie…i think we’ll start calling you Billy Elliot!!!
🙂 Hehe
Seriously, yeah I suppose I do enjoy them. I wouldn’t say I’d go specifically to see one, but if someone took me to one I would probably enjoy it. I’ve only seen a few (Phantom of Opera, Les Miserables, Joseph etc) but enjoyed them all. The trouble, in my opinion, is the cost nowadays. A trip to the theatre, for me, including travel, can cost around £70 which is quite a lot given the current economic climate.

Very early information released from the investigators suggest severe ice buildup caused severe pitch and roll effects. Reminds me very much of that ATR72 crash in Roselawn in 1994 where ice built up as the plane was holding, causing it to crash out of control. 🙁
Terrible news. As Bmused55 says, it appears that it was quick. Thought the controller handled the situation really well, hats off to him in an obviously difficult situation.
Very pretty shots. The orange of the EZY and the snow contrast quite nicely. 😀
Slightly off topic, but they seem to get a fair bit of snow at Luton each year. It appears to me a bit odd then that it has been closed for a fair while last week given that Airfield Ops should be more used to snowy conditions.
Talking of snow, seems Birmingham is shut this evening/tonight. Maybe a touch poor given I can see literally 2cm of snow from my uni room window about 10 miles away from there?!? 🙂
Great shot there, Jon. That’s probably one of the nicest A380 shots I’ve seen in a little while. 🙂
Not bad.
Only joking. 🙂 I’m trying to think of something different than normal to say about your photos, but I can’t, so I’ll just say that they’re brilliant!
Excellent shots as per usual from you, Sam! 🙂
Great shots – looks like you all had a great day!
Some people can be so stupid at times. If they can’t be bothered to wait 2 minutes for the train to pass, then that is quite pathetic, in my opinion.
Also we should consider those who drive these trains. The driver of the train shown on the last clip surely would have believed that he had killed the lad. I remember seeing a programme all about such ‘one-under’ cases on the Tube network and how some drivers have never returned to work after such incidents. Totally not fair on them.

Good shots. The Challenger seems to be coming in at quite a low pitch for that altitude. It seems as if it must have been a fairly late, shallow flare.
Nice shots for a first real attempt, Jon.
It sure does take a little bit of time to get used to the different settings on the DSLRs. I certainly found that out, but just by tweaking a few things each time, the difference in quality is quite noticable.
Keep practicing and hopefully see you at the London airports some time!
PS – nice train picture (surprised it was actually running given there are few bits of snow in the picture!!)
