Flying with Leading Edge at Cumbernauld, 9 quid per landing. We have a way round it though for the moment: do a go-around at about 50ft every second approach!

I started nearly a year ago, but because of a chest infection have only managed 10hours so far. Just reached the expensive bit; circuits.

    Keep us posted

Steve, I’m sorry I couldn’t be there today. I never met you, but your memory goes on.

My first flight was in one of Loganair’s Islanders, G-AVRA, as a pleasure flight at the Edinburgh airshow at Turnhouse on 22nd June 1968. I was ten.

First time I took the controls was also from Turnhouse. I don’t know the date, or reg, but it was an ATC air experience flight in a Chipmunk.

shocked, can’t say anything else. Steve had a fantastic way of sharing his enthusiasm and passion for flying. I found his tales of various flights inspiring, not to mention his encouragement for those starting out in flying.

Thoughts go to Haydn, Jules and the rest of his family.

Steve, I never met you, but I sure will miss you.

another postmodernist here, but maybe that is open to interpretation!

    You scored as Postmodernist.

Postmodernism is the belief in complete open interpretation. You see the universe as a collection of information with varying ways of putting it together. There is no absolute truth for you; even the most hardened facts are open to interpretation. Meaning relies on context and even the language you use to describe things should be subject to analysis.

If we include acoustic guitar then we have:

Leo Kottke, or the late Michael Hedges
