Brendan Walsh who was running Dave Gilmours aviation side of things inthe old Aces High hangar took over and run about 3 events if I recall but could not call then the Fighter Meet, which moved to Orsett as The Orsett Air Days I think along with Norman Lees as Display coordinator.

Did the Fighter Meet go to Wroughton or was that Great Warbirds?

thought I had seen the top somewhere, its a Hot Water Tank Expansion vessel of some kind,
They are used to presurise hot water / heating systems and pressure relief.
    great creation, love it.

P40 is a gorgeous aeroplane, looks good, flys well, good display aircraft but Spitfires get bookings, as Bruce said, it is Peters own collection and his to do as he feels. I would rather see him sell a couple and keep fluid with financing and bringing new projects to flight.
Sad to let them go but as with the OFMC, ARCO and TFC, you keep the your kids, MH434, Blenheim, Bearcat and move around the others, makes good sense.

that is the release eye when being towed, I think there was a leaver in the cockpit that allowed you to disconnect from the towing aircraft.
