Hurricane LF363 BBMF Over Kings Lynn on FR24, suprised they are up with this Met we have today, must be better than Essex
Now stopped Squawking just over the coast N of Cromer

Thank you to all the contributors to this thread, I will take on board what some of said about starting this thread when there is the Duxford Diary, I have listened and taken no notice whatsoever and will in the future start a thread I feel deserves its own place in aviation history.
PA474 is back in the sky doing what she does best and a massive well done to all who had a finger in this pie.
Thank you again one and all.
Martin you must of been on a very high ladder or tree it looks just like some are Air to Air !
Brilliant review there and that first mirror shot looks unreal very well done you
Lovely account of the event, just dont Spoonerism ‘Buckerfest’
One shot looks like a still from ‘The Great Escape’ !
Glorious
just catching up here in airshows.
Gorgeous photgraphs you can feel the atmosphere of OW
What a lovely flight puts you right there and the little bum squeezer to !
What sounded like a Stearman an hour or so ago def a P&W engine but could not see it, maybe it was the wing walker one heading N as it has the past few fridays
The cars in the background look later than 45 types and I am not convinced by the tail of the A/C on the ground as 504 just not quite right but could be the angle
Where is the slot in the Spitfire to put it and once you put it in the slot does it rock back and forth to the Luftwaffe March????!!!
Anyone remember the ‘Orset Air Days’ Essex Im guessing in the late 90s from memory , I think it was run by Brendan Walsh? who ran Intrepid Aviation at North Weald. I attended maybe 2 or 3 and they were a slow but enjoyable experience but very low on public attendance
Remembering the old days of The Great Warbirds, Fighter Meet etc they had an excitement a feel obviously long before the interweb and the instant gratification of knowing what is going on back then it was a poster and that gave you the heads up to what may be there.
We will never return to those days and as Denis has pointed out its that corporate feel that has maybe taken away some of today’s atmosphere times change and we have moved on and it looks like OW may just be the one that makes us slightly older ones feel a bit more comfortable.
I remember my excitement of seeing a Mustang, blimey that was something, spitfire aplenty at most airshows way back when ( well at least 1) but a Mustang!
The Jets in the 60s En masse 5, 10, 20 of them I am no jet fan but what I see then cannot be repeated now for many reasons.
Have I rose tinted on? Maybe
No as I was asking how the airshows feel this year not about accidents, I am finding it hard to get motivated to go to a show I dipped out of North Weald last weekend just because.
