if you look back over the years to see how many fans have been killed at football matches it far exceeds that of our airshows here in the UK, FACT
later Spitfire I would say mid 40s
Kelly’s heroes stands out for me, I think I must be nearly word perfect. 🙂
And me Alan, I think I can do the whole film, god knows how many times I have seen it, runs into hundreds I would say.
Very sad to see the pilots helmet hanging out of the cockpit upon its recovery, brings home the personal side to the incident.
YES IT IS, considering when it was made, summer 68, they put a hell of a lot of effort into the sets and the aircraft as near as possible looking war weary.
Hamish Mahaddie did an excellent job of collecting the aircraft together would of been easier using Harvards as 109s etc
Ok
Battle of Britain
Kellys Heroes ( yes I know but excellent fun)
The Great Escape
Where Eagles Dare, Broadsword calling Danny Boy
Heroes of Telemark
are they not spit type?
Spitfire I think well in the distance heading S this morning just S/E of Chelmsford City
Yep should of stayed where it was as is relevant to the possible finding of old aircraft remains
I agree, MOGGY has his own views of which he is entitled to but he must also see that others have their personal views also on this subject and I am with rocketeer on this one and a host of others.
Moggy had the last word, not MK12
If you want to moderate just remove the bickering side of it where snipes at others etc are what really brings any thread into a borefest.
MK12 has pointed out just another snippet which is relevant to the story and shows how something 70 years ago can be like a million years away as we just do not know.
As I have said before, are there buried aircraft? who knows and please have the respect to allow David Cundall, MK12 and whoever else wish to follow a lead, its their time and money and MOGGY if you wish to prove otherwise i suggest you get your backside out to Burma and prove everyone else wrong.
PZ863 T311 BBMF fighters over Hanningfield reservoir waiting the arrival of the main queens flight,
Then watched the Queens flight pass overhead towards London including the Reds in tail end charlie
Blenheim Friday evening slinking through about a mile away heading towards Biggin Fairsted Essex may of been around 6pm I was mowing !
What looked like an L39 or simular heading W over A12 Boreham
Well said One Bat, I agree totally.
Welcome back Peter

Vickers Spitfire IXB G-BMSB just flown down to Subury from Duxford, now returning to DX, giving rides or returning for another reason?
I had someone tell me they are going to fly in a two seat spitfire that took part in the Battle of Britain, Im guessing the film of 1969 not the battle of 1940
