TNZ
Well done PL, 😀
TNZ,
2 No not even close hint not a normal Navy company
Cheers Crazymainer
Well I thought it was as the Navy did order 6 of these and it looks similar to the picture.
But I don’t mind being proven wrong… 😉
Lol, Daz.
When you see and hear one of these babies up close (esp the Griffon ones), then the drool-factor redlines big time !!!
Waiting to see what the DazDaMan Spitfire ends up looking like…. 😉
TNZ
Well done PL, 😀
Yes the first one is a F-Boat build by American Trans-Oceanic Com. this was one of the 4 they build. This one is a trainer ATO was owned at one time by Curtis.
TNZ,
1 Yes on the company but what is the plane type
2 No not even close hint not a normal Navy company
3 Correct this is a photo of VP-10F on there historic flight from San Frans to Pearl. So that still leaves two unknows and one needs the type.
I told you this one was going to be harder :diablo:
Cheers Crazymainer
You’re not wrong this is a lot harder…. :diablo:
Actually, youre right, the Burgess-Dunne was an Army aircraft…oops..
Okay let me work on this also…
TNZ
I’d be interested to see Crazymainers answer to the first one as I reckon so too, or it was a Boeing-built example perhaps.
Didn’t Jeremy Clarkson purchase one once………. 😀 😀 😮
(I know it was all theatrical)
TNZ
Hey Phil,…
Maybe I should keep out of them too, just that I enjoy Crazymainers quizes and I learn so much more about US Navy aviation.
Cheers
Chris
TNZ
No. 2 is a Burgess-Dunne
No. 4 is a Naval Aircraft Factory N3N
No.5 is a Consolidated Commodore
TNZ
OK Guys,
Nope would you like to try for Double Jeapardy.
Hint its not a Curtis(My Bag was looking at wrong photo)Thou the company was owned by Curtis at one time.
Cheers Crazymainer
Are you sure?
As these were also made by Boeing and Loughead.
TNZ
I’d go with Warhawk and say the first one is a HS-2L also 😉
Cheers
TNZ
Hi Daz,
You seen this pic??
Cheers
Chris
TNZ
Thanks Phil, you’re pretty good at these too yaself !!
Quizes are great because while you’re researching a very obscure aircraft you’re learning so much more than you normally would with classic aviation.
Cheers
Chris
Thanks for the advice, Phil.
# 3 will be HARRDDD !!!!!!!!!!!!
😉
Cheers
Chris
