Gotta say, HMS Invincible doesn’t translate to Seafire Invincible….
CAC-15
Dammit, you’re right Wombat…
I was wrong, sorry,..saw this pic and changed my mind, not too bad at all from this angle… 😮

According to Spitfire a Complete Fighting History the top speeds for various later marks were as follows:
XVIII 442
XIX 460
XXI 454
XXII 454
XXIV 454I hope this helps.
Thanks ST170dw
yeah thought so,…but thought 470mph+ could be just a little too fast, in a dive maybe though

Don’t really like the P-51H, though. Doesn’t look like a Mustang, even though it is one!!!
That Aussie built Mustang look-alike that Stormbird posted a while ago was pretty damn ugly and looks like this too.. 😀
hmmm,…I would have gathered that the late model Griffon ones would be all out at 430-440 mph…
Maybe Daz can help here.. 🙂

The Beverly is not what I would call a beauty ether :p , Someone put a pic up of it please 🙂 , While I look for the Uglyest Fuglyest Plane of all time 😮 , Might even be an oldie 😉 , Cheers everyone, Tally Ho! Phil. 😉
C’mon, the Beverley is actually not that bad…..

Interesting aircraft, thanks, SB262
Wow, excellent. It’d great to see so much talent not going to waste.

It is very nice, definitely.
Is the 4-bladed prop there for show or actually functional ?
TNZ
…and perhaps painted it PRU Blue?
Mark
I agree.
It does look like it was based on the Mark 19,..perhaps the RR one 😉
TNZ
I have to say the replicas are getting better and better at present.
If you put a 5-bladed prop on that Spitfire and took the photo from a little bit further away then you would be hard pressed to tell it from a real one.
Also that P-51 is damn good too 🙂
TNZ
Nice video, nice music but it ain’t quite a substitute for 27ltr sound of 12 cylinders…. 😉
TNZ
What scale is that, Daz ?
Thanks for the pics, SB 262.
From what I recall reading, the Sperrin was intended as a Valiant replacement if it didn’t work out, if I am correct. But the Valiant was put into service, albeit with a fatigue-shortened life.
