    Thanks for that. I’ve been there and it is a good website.

    Do you have any pics of your Air Camper ?

    I’d love to know more about it of possible. I’m compiling a heap of information at present to ensure I go about this the right way.

    Dave, I am pretty sure this are two Stukas here in NZ….I might be wrong, just thought I read it in CWD.

    Be nice if I am right though 😀

    If not, well,…I might just flag the Pietenpol I’m probably going to build and do a Ju-87 instead;)

    yes I believe youre right.

    The bare metal one and the desert camo one are 2 different Stukas.

    hmmm,….me thinks maybe the triplanes may not do the aerobatic g’s that the Harvards would……

    That Stuka you mentioned, thats the 1:1 scale one that’s nearly completed isn’t it…I think it was featured in the latest issue of CWD. I seem to remember seeing a pic of it painted in desert colours.

    I’m still investigating that one.

    I’ve only just really started compiling the facts together, as you do when you embark on a big project.

    Anyway here’s a pic of G-BUCO (which does look great) and a steel fuselage.

    I’ve tried joining the UKAirCampers Yahoo group but they haven’t accepted me yet. Thought they could be a good source of information.
    I belong to the Pietenpol (US one) Yahoo Group which is very
    informative.

    As my background is more steel than wood, I’m looking at making it out of 4130 steel tubing.

    I just love the looks of it and my dream is have one finished in the 1930s US Army Air Corp colours of blue and yellow with striped rudder.

    Yes, that Hudson at Wigram is absolutely beautiful.

    When I’m in Christchurch at Easter on my way down to Wanaka, I’ll try and stop in there and get some pics to share here (as well as the million pics I’m taking at Wanaka:D )

    Hi Dave,

    I had a look at those links you posted.

    If the Ventura still looks like that today as it did in those pics (1997) then I reckon it’s restorable. Like you said in the other post of Tim Wallis’s amazing restoration of the Russian Hurri, they can do wonders with very little.

    But, it’s easy for me to say this, I guess.

    Just thinking about that Ventura,…the type was widely used by the RNZAF, so I’m quite surprised if there is a restorable (flyable !!) one available why someone hasn’t snapped it up.

    They were a very successful aircraft in there time and very much a part of NZ’s history.

    Dave, do you have an pics of that one ? I for one would love to see any.
