Very moving videos. Thanks for posting them.

Kev, your post says it all for me, as does the song, “A Pittance Of Time”.

    On a personal note…
On Sunday, we attended the Remembrance Service at Flintham, in Nottinghamshire. Afterwards, we all gathered at the Memorial at Screveton for a brief service to remember the 11 RAF crewmen who lost their lives in a mid-air collision above the village in 1944.

Today, on our business trip to Boston, I stopped the car & switched off at 11:00 for two minutes.
On our return, we called at the Memorial to Lancaster ND820 at Bicker.
Six of the seven crew of this aircraft still lie in the fields.

According to the latest news bulletin (Times online), the Police are indeed treating it as a murder inquiry.

Not sure about a Lancaster, but there is a B-29 available on FeeBay.

Send a tasty looking ship along near Somali water, arm it to the teeth, but keep the weapons hidden (Say behind windows), let the suckers get in real close and let rip.

You mean a Q-ship? I like the idea, too! :diablo:

    Superb shots…

    Nice to see 47324 running!
I visited Barry Scrapyard in (I think) 1977, and well recall climbing on that very loco!
It never fails to impress me how a loco is transformed from a rusty, forgotten wreck back into a living, breathing thing. Kudos to all involved.

    Thanks Steve.

I’ve read of other animals, particularly elephants, showing grief or mourning the death of a fellow, but have never seen pics. Very moving, indeed.

Moggy – As for this A A Gill character – Words fail me. What a tosser. 😡

Overall, I thought it was a good programme.
In addition to those youngsters that said that they would continue modelmaking, hopefully others, through watching the programme, will give it a “go”.
I can’t help feeling that a more modern Airfix offering would have been a better choice (perhaps using it as a comparison to the original Spitfire kit).

As a gay man, I actually found May’s remark quite funny. I do appreciate that not all of my fellows will share my opinion, but hey – You can’t please all of the people all of the time…:D

It is good to know that the families of these guys will now have closure.

Please excuse me, I seem to have something in my eye…

The Sad B******* Society would be Bus Spotters surely.

    Oii!!:mad::mad:

Nice shots, good to see some classic traction in the shape of those Brush 4s
(Even if one has GM rubbish inside it).

A few days back, I stood at Trent Junction waiting for a special working; 31190 on Washwood Heath to Boston empty IHAs. I had got up at oh-dark hundred just in case it was early… It was due to reach Nottingham at 0851.

In the distance came the unmistakeable sound of a EE12SVT, I raised the camera, and checked for the umpteenth time that it was set-up correctly.
‘190 hoves into view and fills the screen. *click*. Then another unmistakeable sound – The low battery warning.
The air went blue. Almost B.R. blue.

Hopefully I will have better luck photographing the Class 20s on the LUL stock at Old Dalby…
