    Update…

    Ladies & Gentlemen,

In response to the requests made on the Britmodeller thread (since closed) for everyone to contact their local media, I contacted the ITN Newsdesk about this disgraceful act.

I had a reply from the news editor this morning:

Don – I’ve just picked up your email. I think this is outrageous and I would like to cover it on London Tonight – hopefully on our programme tomorrow night? …I just can’t understand why someone would have done this.

    Kind regards,

    Lizzie Hill

I telephoned her a few minutes ago, and I can confirm that there will be coverage on the “London Tonight” programme tomorrow (17:08:09) at 18:00.

When we had the clear out prior to the loft conversion, I found about 8 of these!

I have since put them in a “safe place” (!), but from memory, there are 3 different types of London bus, 3 types of traction engine, a vintage car, and (I think) a Hurricane.

G.O.K. where they were originally bought…

Hmmm Mr Hubbard is not held in high regard on a Science Fiction forum I’m on. In fact that book is listed in a recent ‘Worst ever SF book’ thread there, with quite a few listing it.

Perhaps Hubbard’s rather odd beliefs and his Scientology “religion” didn’t do him many favours? 😀

I was given one of his books (the previous owner having dismissed it as “crap”), and found myself rather liking it… I bought the entire series.
As you may have guessed, I pay very little attention to reviews! 😀

Ah, Triplanetary. IIRC, the first in E E Smith’s “Lensman” series.

It took me two reads to get to grips with this one; I found that the best way to read this (and others in the series) is “little and often”.

You may also like L. Ron Hubbard’s “Mission Earth” series. They are what the author describes as “satyrical science fiction”. There are 10 books in all.
I’m not sure if they are still in print, but they are worth looking out for.

As for myself, I am currently working my way through a very old Readers Digest set called “Secrets & Stories of the Second World War”.

    Matt,

I think that the “forward deployment” of the Vulcan is a lovely touch.

Whatever method you use for applying & setting/ sealing the decals, please keep us updated on how they stand up to the elements.
