1. Scottish oil revenues approx £7 billion. Money from central government to Scotland £40 billion. Balance in favour of the UK £33 billiion better off.
2. It is the UK Ministry of Defence. On independence Scotland would be on her own to defend herself or else pay England to supply a defence force.

All you have done is to say “I think it would be” and “It would be”, but nowhere do you explain why you have come to that conclusion. But I assume it is because you do not know why England would be worse off. If you do know why I would be delighted to hear your argument.

Well that’a neat way to avoid any further discussion I suppose, but, having read each of your posts I can find no evidence to support your claim that the English will be worse off after independence, so I will assume you have none.

It is worth reminding ourselves that oil rose from a level of about $18 during the 60s to over $100 in the mid-late 70s, exacerbated by the Yom Kippur war and subsequent embargoes. And $100 then was serious money!
