I have run it, although without sound, as I have no speakers on this machine, but the video runs for the full 50 odd seconds.

To do the film justice for the “big screen” it will cost a lot and producers will probably not see the return they want or need.

    “I’m not sure there’s a box-office market for air-war films anymore”

I think that is the key comment. Maybe a made-for-TV financed film but not as a feature film for full theatre distribution.

A fairly narrow view of what was happening, Swerve. But at least then you could speak your mind and not feel the hand of the law on your shoulder and all the heterosexual males I know managed to survive the 70s without ever once feeling the need to be on our guard using a public toilet – nor being suspected as an IRA member. Funny how one’s view of history differs.from another’s….;)

Aye, it’s hard to believe what’s right here James, as the media and every body else is pretty het up about it. But the rumour is although Leuchars has had a fortune spent on it’s runway, Lossie has about 5 times as much spent on it, just as you said for the future RAF requirements, therefore it is likely Leuchars will go, and will become the new airport for Dundee. The current Dundee airport is limited to say the least….

Is there that much traffic growth for Dundee forseen to justify the costs involved both in the move and the costs in creating a civil oeration at Leuchars and the closure of Dundee?

In the UK copyright lasts 50 years, doesn’t it. May be quite different in the US and elsewhere.

Ah, hah! – thanks. You have better info than me – I thought there was oil but its accessability was in doubt. So that is unlikley to be a factor in the future of the islands as we are discussing here. Is the population stable or declining? Are young islanders leaving for pastures new or are they staying and growing up on the islands, thus making the future more secure?

Looking at it another way – it’s great free publicity! Although I know that that is a concept lawyers fail to understand! But it is an interesting question and one that may never have posed.

There has been much debate abouit the likelihood of successfully recovering the oil within the UK territorial waters. I imagine the situation would be greatly altered in the next 25 years if drilling commences.

I have been visting France regularly for 40 years and in the last 10 years several times a year. I have encountered no more arrogance, rudeness, bureaucratic incompetence or unfriendliness from the French than from my own countrymen over the same period. In my experience the French only respond negatively to the “Little Englander” attitude displayed by so many British tourists to their country. And, for the record, should England fail to win the Six Nations Rugby Tournament, I hope France win – as long as we beat them in two weeks’ time!;):D
