Well McDonald Douglas certainly did, as it reminds of the Israeli F15 which lost its entire left wing in a mid-air collision and the pilot brought it back and landed it safely.

That sounds likely – it seems a helluvan enterprise to ship the planes and the team over here for one show in the middle of their US season.

As one with very limited knowledge but stacks of interest I begin to realise how far apart aspiration and reality are when it comes to these venerable old aircraft. Sounds as though someone with a bit of spare lottery money to invest in the museum at Binbrook is the best solution.

If this is official and they really are crossing the Atlantic in the middle of a busy US schedule I can’t wait to be there!! I’ve already planned to be at all the Duxford shows so if they come I won’t miss them!!:D

The King’s Speech – excellent in all departments – great production value and fine acting, especially from Firth and Rush. Historical quibbles are irrelevant because it does not pretend to be a documentary. The two hours passed unnoticed as it was so absorbing.

Flanker – “It’s not like they don’t actually do loads of testing or nothing…..”

No, really? Are you sure?……:) Let’s just say the chances of failure are exponentially increased the greater the number of bolts to explode……

Finished it at the weekend – excellent read, well laid out, continuously intetresting and consistently well written. I felt I was reliving my life as an aviation nut, as we are of a similar age. Highly recommended.
