Bint is now but was not then – if you read my earlier post. The changing use of words………..who would now admit to having a gay time, unless they were.:confused:

The usage and meanings of words is ever changing much to the confusuion of some. And should you find a copy of the book I mentioned you will be surprised at what was acceptable slang then and wouldn’t be now and vice versa.

Maybe the programme should have been called “Dambusters – Popsie Revealed”…….

I have a splendid little book entitled “Service Slang” written in 1943 by F/O J L Hunt and Lt A G Pringle R.A. with a forword by AM Leigh-Mallory.

“Popsies: Girl friends. ( See also BINT)

Bint: The service name for one’s girl friend. Thus, a LUSH BINT.”

Why previous posters have implied something unsavory, or worse, about the term, I have no idea.
