Thirty years on since his passing I wonder what on earth he would make of todays world. I’m pretty sure he would have been slung out of the states soon after the 1st Gulf war started, he was not one for keeping quiet about his beliefs, and quite rightly so. :diablo:

Right that he mouthed off or right that he would have been slung out? Or both?;) Would he have carried on rocking, taken on a political mantle ( or both ) or just faded into history or lived a less musical more visual art inspired life with Yoko?

On some I suppose he made more of an impact but for me he simply wrote a few good tunes – as did many others.

It landed from Yeovilton and then returned later in the day. It was just wonderful to see it. It’s not ready for display yet but fingers crossed for the 2011 season.:D

I don’t think you are. I have no doubt that the medics will have been very carefully preparing the miners for the ascent and it will be the final element in a gruelling, frightening, tortuous few weeks and one which they will never forget. I wish them well.

Indeed they did turn up, oh ye of little faith! And were part of a beautiful day, cloudless skies, very enjoyable flying display and a perfect end to the Duxford flying season. And how marvellous to see the Swordfish out for its first public appearance enjoying the run from Yeovilton to Duxford for the day. And the first time 4 Pitts have been together for years – it brought back golden memories of the great Rothmans team.

Weather looks very promising indeed for this last Duxford of the season, with an enticing flying programme as well. Can’t wait.:)
