I regret to say that you have a point. That’s the wonder of the irrationality of religious belief – the glass is always half full.

There can’t be many, if any, collections with as many aircraft, can there? Even if the state of repair is poor in many cases. Amongst the pictures there are clearly numbers of rotting fuselages and miscellaneous aircraft parts.

Possibly because one of his predecessors was nearly killed, if I recall in Rome. Papal infallibility must have been shattered that day! I am wondering what percentage of the British people are as interested in this visit as the media seem to be.

That’s it wwrsimon – thank you. A quite unusual place in its breadth of material displayed. As far as the aircraft are concerned predominantly French, as you say although there are a few Russian Fitters or similar amongst the photos. Do you just know of it or have you visited it? If I am ever that way I will certainly make a point of going.

How many heads of state travel in sealed bullet proof vehicles, anyway? If he were to be popped off there are plenty of cardinals in the queue to take over. Waste of a few decent Mercs, I reckon.

Adler Tag – I don’t think I have ever seen a dramatisation do justice to the printed word. In my view you take it on its own terms or not at all.

With reference to an earlier post, I don’t know, but prior to the airfield upgrading programme perhaps access to Tangmere was like that in May 1940 – I think we know someone on here who will corroborate that, or not!!
