Some of his stand-up is brilliant, some dire. There have been few sitcoms, if any, following The Office to match it.:)

Anyone know when the rest of the series airs? If my reckoning is right we still have the Lego and trainset ones to see. Or have I missed them? 🙁

According to the Beeb the first 4 will be repeated between 21st -24th December and the last two on the 25th and 30th December.:)

British actor Richard Todd, perhaps best known for his role as Guy Gibson in the film Dambusters has passed away aged 90.

That is sad. He was a good actor and real gentleman and a fine soldier. Mme Gondree who runs the cafe at Pegasus Bridge knew him well as he almost never failed to visit Normandy every June. Indeed his last visit was in a wheelchair along with many other veterans last year.

my reply, my house has been on fire, i phoned and expained before
to which i got, THAT WAS AGES AGO, ITS HALF 7 NOW, DONT BOTHER COMING IN, IVE HAD TO COME AND DO YOUR SHIFT End call

5 minutes later the phone rings again

ITS ME! (the boss) IVE TAKEN YOU OFF THIS WEEKS ROTA TOO, I CANT AFFORD TO HAVE MY STAFF NOT TURNING UP FOR THEIR SHIFTS

i wasnt asked how i was or if everything was ok, just why i wasnt at work, its not as if sunday is a busy night either, we get about 3 regulars in for 4 pints each and thats it! we close at 10:30

Very evocative pictures and memories. Thanks. My company used one of the nissen huts as a warehouse for a couple of years, about 15 years ago, before we moved to Kent so I had explored quite a bit during that time. Biggest news of the day at the time was illegal immigrant running by light plane – at night – landing by searchlight. Very exciting stuff!

Our landlord was the local farmer who owned the airfield and was not in fact all that helpful or friendly so perhaps our friend was lucky enough not to encounter him, if he is still around.
