ThreeSpool – not necessarily. I know it’s very “old school” but I think that social interration worked better when there was an inbuilt respect for the old – be they parents, older relatives, schoolteachers, policemen etc. As we grew older we learned that amongst all those there were some for whom we begrudged that respect but that established structure provided a strong platform on which we all built our lives.
The problem is that so many of these figures have lost that original natural respect by virtue of their own actions over the last decade or more.
