I respectfully disagree. It is now fashionable to feel sympathy and kindness towards people we do not know and therefore can have no feelings for. It is rather like the daughter of someone living in the same town dying at a young age. One can commiserate with the parents but how can we have feelings for the individual?
The exception is towards those who fought to preserve our freedoms and lost their lives in the process and to whom we owe that debt.

Heartless? I think some of us for whom neither she nor her music meant anything feel nothing for her death either. We have expressed the normal sympathies for her loss with those who loved her.

He has said he will account for his actions and explain his reasons tomorrow. It will be instructive to see what more he has to say. But what has been revealed to date is hardly the work of a madman. Rather someone deeply motivated and totally committed to his cause.

Sorry Interflug, sarcasm is seldom my style but on this occasion it seemed to be the most appropriate response to your extraordinary claims.

No time for her or her music but sorry for those who cared for her.

Why should they subsidise prices which by their own policies they have driven up?
You do not invest in companies if the government of the day has the ability to control the prices the business charges. It might as well be nationalised.
Savings rates are directly related to interest rates, as you know. The government, in the name of the BoE, is keeping rates well below the inflation rate so effectively all but high risk savings are losing money year on year.
