If I gave that impresssion in my posts it was unintentional. I wholeheartedly endorse the last sentence of your first paragraph, which is why I referred to prosecutions in an earlier post.

And as for the Dowler family – their situation is appalling. And now we are hearing that the mobile of a parent of one of the 7/7 victims was hacked. How much more do we not yet know?

As you say, Kev, it is one tragedy upon another and I only hope that the full weight of the law is brought to bear on ALL those who are found culpable.

This one really is going to run and run so I’ll sit bak to see just how much dirt is raked up. At that point resignations need to be given and prosecutions considered. The ex-editor should have resigned by now anyway. If the outcome is the weakening of Murdoch’s unfathomable hold over our political elite then so much the better.

    Hurn – #3923 – thank you!!

As for complaining about where the lottery money is spent that indeed is for another thread. But, again no one is forced to buy a lottery ticket, so if you do you are putting your money’s fate in the hands of the HLF. If you don’t approve of how they spend the money don’t buy a ticket. I never have.

I do not recall the exact figures but Sally B is considerably less than XH558 and even Sally B’s season was curtailed this year to reduce some of those costs.

Plemming will get flak hurled at him ad nauseam on this forum, and the whole project is also continuously criticised here as well, so there is little to add to what has already been said.

I think it is a wild assumption to make that because x thousand or million people enjoy something they will necessarily put their hands in their pocket to donate. If only it was that easy!!

I am content to accept that a group of people came together and managed to restore a V-bomber to flight and to display her to a few million people, in total, for several years. It was a great project, I supported it and this year, next, the year after it will end. And most of us who have seen it will remember it for a long time, just as I still remember seeing Roly Falk’s roll in 1955!!

A very interesting debate of a subject about which I have no strong feelings either way. But I do have a question relating to an earlier post speculating on the removal to a smaller museum where it might get the benefit of resoration. I understood that the cost will be very high so I wondered how a small, just as under-funded museum, could succeed where the IWM might fail?

I’m fully prepared for the slippers, probably not the pipe and the Archers, the minute I lose my desire to get airborne in a biplane, one more time!!:)
