I hope it will as well.:) You cannot advise people how to cope with grief because it is so personal but if you are able to leave it in the background this weekend I am sure it will help you.:)

I’d rather be in a Tiger or a Stearman!!:diablo: I thought the sports hatch saga a bit lame compared to earlier ones…….and I am happy to reassure you that I have no slippers, never smoked a pipe and never, ever listened to the Archers. Hope that makes you feel better.;);)

Writing as a long-time fan of the programme and risking an avalanche of incoming, are the producers and the boys just begining to try too hard? The new series just seems to lack something but I can’t put my finger on it. Or is it that most long-running series eventually pall? Is it becoming too predictable, perhaps?

Indeed! Who suggested that education ever had anything to do with it, other than the provision of information to those who might ask. Un lerss I have been missing out all therse years the restoration of old aircraft to fly is for the sheer pleasure of the flying, isn’t it? From both the pilots and the spectators’ perspective.

The history is interesting and indeed fascinating to many, but that is not the raison d’etre of the enterprise. Is it?

Not if but when, Peter – isn’t 2013 the final year assuming all the annual funding is in place? So I agree that a Roly roll might well be appropriate but with Kev at the helm, not Martin.;)

My sense is that wiser councils will prevail. It is simply in no one’s interest for them not to. Strike day will have achieved something if it is the spur to resolving the problems.

Public antagonism was muted because there was limited inconvenience but that could change. I’m not sure that the public have much sympathy for those trying to protect their pensions and retirement age.

It has come to a pretty pass if Brits can no longer blame Johnny Foreigner for their woes.;)

Not to detract from the Vulcan but in answer to your question, Concorde was always applauded – and at Heathrow!! The Harrier usually got a round, Red Arrows…..
