Presumably this is the Lightning on the A1?
Dave, sometimes people only have time to have a quick read through of threads, and intend to reply to a particular thread when they have more time, but forget. Plus of course, the boards scroll so quickly, that a post made at say 4:00am forum time, has scrolled onto the next page by say 19:00 forum time. Of course people can click on page 2, 3 etc, but it is easy to get diverted by a thread on the first page and not get as far as the second page.
Excuses, excuses I know, but worth thinking about?
Damien…I find the notion of the game when put into it’s historical context funny, I’m not quite sure if someone plonked such a game down on the bar counter at a forum meet and suggested we play that I’d be laughing.
And I’m far from staid and conservative, me…
Eh eh eh! (If you understand that, then you’ll know EXACTLY what I mean ;))
On a serious note, I am not hugely fond of the title for this thread. I appreciate that the Bomber crews would have perhaps had some fun with this game in 1943 β Britain was after all at war with Germany and there was a real βus versus themβ mentality, and the Bomber crews might have found some relief in this game.
However, I think we need to leave this particular game in the past. It is a relic of itβs time, and in my opinion should remain exactly that.
Is it just me, or does Himmler look remarkably like Ben Elton?
Whaaaaaaaaat? π‘ Sorry to hear this Steve…I know it’s little consolation now, but are there any other marathons you could run in the meantime? (Presumably you want to raise some money for charity, and this is why you’re doing it?) There must be other marathons in this country that raise money for charity (sorry, complete dunce on these things) I’ll sponsor you! π
Meanwhile, have a beer π
Thank you for sharing these with us kukri π
Are you doing the seating arrangements for the forum do, too?;) – Nermal
No ta, the men in white coats would really be coming for me then π
Oooh! I like Minty π

Or even worse, David Emmanuel? π
Whalebone darling, are you trying to tell me you look like David Essex?!? π :p :diablo:
Bored, when there are pics like these to view? Never! π
Thanks for posting the link to your pics, Jim, I for one look forward to seeing some more π
Oh my word…it’s all slowly coming back to me now π
Barnowl…thanks but I was merely curious about the lecturer…I went on a conference like the one you went on yesterday, and one of the speakers was rather scary – I think he was the Peter somebody one, but my memory might be playing tricks on me!
