π Rest in peace Don
Ah, a revival!
Yes, i’ll be there. Please do polish Ashley, if you don’t mind – most appreciated, and there’s a pint in it!
Mobile is 07905 850671. I’ll be taking George along, plus dad and a friend or two. George will be looking around the museum, so Sunday Lunch and a return to the museum might be a good idea, after a quick look beforehand.
Had a go at the polishing today, will go back tomorrow lunchtime and finish it π
Further info on Remembrance Sunday at Duxford:
The Museum will be observing the two minute silence at 11.00am, then at 12.15pm there will be a short Service of Remembrance conducted by Peter Smith (a name not unfamiliar to some of you) According to Jim Hutchinson, Volunteer Co-ordinator at Duxford, “If the weather is fine the whole of this service will be conducted outdoors adjacent to the H4 memorial stones. In the event of poor weather the service will commence undercover in the north west corner of H4. In either case the service, supported by both Sawston Youth Group Band & Buglers and 2461 Sawston Sqn ATC Cadets, will conclude with wreath laying by IWM, DAS and Burma Star Association representatives in the area of the memorial stones.
Then at 12:45pm, Peter Smith will lead a short wreath laying ceremony inside the Royal Anglian Regiment Museum (on the lower level in the Land Warfare Hall) Representatives of the Burma Star Association will be present.
At 2:00pm, there will be a ‘Remembrance Dance Display’ by Cambridge Regional College in the AAM, followed at 2:30pm by a talk on ‘The American Air Museum as a Memorial’.

I strongly suggest that we start a campaign to have Duxford closed down, on account of the colour of the hangers being incorrect.
π :diablo: :p
Great pics Steve, very interesting π
The warden threw a party in the county jail.
The prison band was there and they began to wail.
The band was jumpinβ and the joint began to swing.
You shouldβve heard those knocked out jailbirds sing.
Letβs rock, everybody, letβs rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancinβ to the jailhouse rock.
I quite like that… π Does WP964 still exist?
Errrrrrr…yes…apparently so… π
I’m glad it’s not just me then Dan π There is little in life that frightens me, but show me an Underground escalator and I turn into a gibbering wreck. Don’t mind insects too much, but I hate creepy crawlies – particularly slugs and snails – consequently I hate gardening and invite my mother to visit on a regular basis to do it for me! π
~Crossing San Fran off my list of places to go~ π
I have a real fear of unenclosed heights, such as the top of stairs, and escalators – especially on the Underground, and cliff tops…I have no problem with heights where I am secure e.g. on the London Eye, it’s just the ones with an open space in front of me. This fear is a serious problem for me – the last time I tried to get on a downwards escalator on the Underground I had a panic attack – since then I have used taxis – expensive I know, but as I only usually visit London 2-3 times a year, I can cope with that – plus the views are much nicer π

Andrewman…the black one? (Serial number currently escapes me) If so, I think it’s moved since I last visited…
~Adding Mr Hairyplane to the list of visitors to Duxford who must be searched before leaving the site…Mr Patterson of course being top of the list~ :p
Tut tut…and don’t think that if you wear a big baggy parka you’ll be able to get half a Magister past me without me noticing…;)
And will it be at Legends next year? π
I caaaaaaaaaaaaan’t help myself, I lurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrve yoooooooooooooooooooooou and nobody else… π
