With regards to the Fraggle Rock song, I seem to remember a rather different version being sung at my school…something like..”Down at Fraggle Rock, grab a Fraggle by it’s ****”…and there being a line about sticking a chain saw up it’s bum…

    Hmmmmm…

And it wasn’t just the boys who sang it…I remember one P.E. lesson where all the girls got detention for singing it in the changing rooms…

Children are evil aren’t they? :p

Andrewman…I hardly think that the Duxford Victor is on a par with the Blackpool Vulcan…despite her tatty appearance, the Victor is not in as bad nick structurally as she looks. Yes, there is a problem with corrosion, but I believe work has already begun on acting upon this, and will continue once the Victor moves into the Airspace’s conservation sector once the new building is completed.

One of my favourites has to be Guy Gibson’s ‘Enemy Coast Ahead’…a courageous man who died much too young as did so many of his generation.

Skipper…now that is one damn good painting. It has depth, character and texture. On a par with my favourite aviation artist, Brian Petch 🙂 I agree with your comment that if you place your work in a public context you open yourself to the possibility or praise and criticism, and you have to learn to accept both gracefully (been there done that)

Hamtech…any comments I made regarding Lee Twigger’s artwork I tried to form as constructive criticism..i.e. what I found wrong artistically with his work. I certainly wouldn’t have called my comments “hammering the crap out of the poor fellow”. I did not make personal comments concerning Mr Twigger himself. As a writer, I would personally rather people told me what they found wrong with my work and how I could improve it, than simply said “oh yes Becka, that’s wonderful”, when really they’re thinking “oh dear, that’s pretty rubbish”. But then that’s just me…

Well whenever I hear Queen’s ‘A Kind of Magic’, I am always transported back to the RAFA airshow at Shoreham, 1998, when the Army Helicopter display team performed with this song playing 🙂

I hated sports at school…I threw the Javeliin backwards, ran straight into the lkong jump pit (I forgot to jump), tripped over every hurdle in the hurdles, dropped the shot putt on the teacher’s foot (gott banned from sports for a whole term for that one :D), hit the other girls’ legs instead of the ball when playing hockey, and nearly brolke one girl’s nose by accident when playing netbal…

Surprisingly, one thing I could do was windsurf…was pretty good as that 🙂
