Could it be ‘typo’ of BR621? As that was with 611 and has a Cat C Damage report on the 2 of November?
Actually PS890.
Ouch. That 5 bladed prop on her was practically brand new.
Three months flying training then on to the frontline. No wonder so many died.
Speaking of ‘The Boo…’ What are the chances of RW393 getting out of Stafford (and back in the air)? Looking at the photos of her in the all white AOC, Fighter Command scheme, I think I’m in love.
Oh I dunno, the Aqua blue and teal green she used to be in when Charles Church had her look quite… striking. 😀
Eh? Less of the precious! I don’t know anyone here and even I knew what they were talking about!
Well, though it says Spitfire on the back caption, it looks more Hurricane and heavily doctored at that.
If someone were feeling crazy enough, there’s enough bits of L7775 and others knocking around to build a complete B.I….
(Simples… kinda.)
Well, I did use the word pleasant and I stand by it, as there are no RAF Hudsons in preservation. To find one is still around is a pleasant surprise regardless of the tragedy of the circumstances. There’s little to remember Stirling crews by, I’m glad there’s an opportunity to preserve and remember the Hudson and those who flew them.
If that sounds insensitive? *Shrug*
Why did they move from Beltring?
I assume from various recent Facebook updates Volume II pre-orders will be shipping before long. I’d love to hear Gordon Peter or Graham to tell us ‘sooner rather than later’ 😉
<– Patiently awaiting his copy.
Careful, Paul! I hear the Spitfire Society have trademarked those names! 😀
Don’t envy the poor sod who polishes it though!
Hmm, tie between the Vb Spit, Mosquito FB.VI and the Hawker Hunter.
Special mentions for the Fokker Dr.I, F16 and SR71.
Wasn’t it RAF Neethley in the film ?
Was it? Could’ve sworn they kept it as Kenley.
