This has been covered before elsewhere on here, however in a nutshell it was sold to an American collector who has had it worked on periodically since and I’m sure in the fullness of time it will fly.

Can anyone remember what happened to the static Spad that AJD built in 96 / 97? I know it was owned by an American but have seen nothing of it since.
It’s a great shame that people were not prepared to pay the money for more authentic WW1 replicas (the real thing would be nicer!!). It would be nice to see more out and about, I particularly enjoyed the Neiuport at Woodchurch at the weekend.

Talking of Austers, what on earth is that oddball variant which is pictured in the news section of Flypast this month, it just looks wrong to me!!!!
I’m starting to gain respect for my friends Auster V, even if it was used in it’s spotting role last night to check where I was.

No but he is tall enough (from my memory of meeting him some years back) you would think either his head or feet would be sticking out, depending on which way he fell in!!!!

On the other hand we are short of a Sea Fury, maybe a few trips and we can slip it into numerous pockets.

All we need to do then is get an engine and prop for it!!!! I am rather partial to the odd Sea Fury, however I would prefer a Corsair if anyone is looking at smuggling one into the country!!!!

Look at the paper drop tanks on ‘Sweet & Lovely’ – first time they have been seen on a Mustang in the modern era. The port tank is an original (one of only four known to exist), the other is a very clever copy made by Bob Baker, owner, pilot and restorer of this machine. Bob achieved the coveted Grand Chapion (WWII) award from the judges for his efforts this year.

Splendid news, looks a lovely aircraft, any idea who and what won the other awards this year?

Ah ok, I was talking to a guy the otherday who will be carrying out some repairs to a Clacton Cub, hence why I asked.

Cheers guys, that Farecla stuff sounds like a good idea, I’ll see what I can find on the way home tonight.
Glad I don’t have to worry about scratches on my old Laguna!!!!

Any idea of the ID of the Fury? Looks like there were some great aircraft there, may try to go one of these days.

From the looks of it the event was in a bid to keep Esso in business for a bit longer.

Lovely head on pic of the Stearman, anyone got a spare VP prop knocking about in their shed?
