Very nice, particularly like the Mustang take off shot, and DaveB’s shot of the Stearman (2nd pic down). Some cracking pics from the weekend, my Saturday fun was dampened by finding out the battery in my camera was flat as soon as we took off!!!
Great Weekend
Shame I missed it, had a call at 8 on Thursday night asking if I wanted to go, struggled a bit with the decision but really had to go to work instead, at least I got to see the Mustang fly back over Bury St Edmunds at 5.30 though.
Looks like it was a great day, thanks for posting the pics Glen.
It was a cracking weekend, highlight for me other than the flight down on Saturday was the Sabre practice display on the Saturday evening.
Shame I didn’t get to meet up with too many people, bumped into at least 4 forum members though.
I can think of some others but not the serials off the top of my head, this one being one of them SX336 rings a bell?
Oh no, I’ve snuk into the ARCO area on a number of occasions, even had a cup of tea made for me (thank you very much). Besides which it’s men in white coats that tend to chase me about.
Then it would be chased by the men in red coats and white landrovers and ejected fron the site.
it could then taxi up into duxford and then on the runway and fly!
Not with the outer wings removed, besides which it would never get past the gentlemen in the guard room.
partially last night but y11f is destroying any shreads left! im not actually from colchester, not born an bread anyway!
Ah so you are a recent addition to the area then!!! A little rumour once mentioned Halstead I believe…. Need I go on????
Actually thinking about it nobody said it was on a lorry did they? I suppose it’s possible with the outer wings removed that is could be taxying down the M11, imagine seeing that come up behind you!!!!
You can’t be innocent AND come from Colchester!!!!!
Can you tell it’s the end of the week yet and I’m not at Kemble where by rights I really should be.
i mean which theatre . jez suome people.
Not sure a Seafire is a good actor to be honest, think they were on big boats with long flat bits on them (may have been a stage I suppose) out in the sea.
On boats
If it’s not tied to the lorry properly I’d say it was a good possibility
wizzard one?
Not unless it was a flatpack Seafire.
Wizzard are no longer at North Weald, I think it’s more likely to be Kennets machine, besides which the Wizzard Seafire is a III not a 17.
Maybe a trip to North Weald could be called for next weekend.
