Harvard Formation Team (nice to see it back)

Not to be confused with the Harvard Formation Team of old.

I feel that by asking time and again what has happened to various Warbird wrecks and speculating on why something has happened will only serve to drive away those closely involved with the various collections in the UK, still what do I know, suppose I could always jack all this in and just continue to focus my efforts on a small UK based collection.

I see another thread has been removed too…. Airshow wrecks…
A perfectly good question asked by the poster…

WHAT IS THE POINT OF A FORUM ?
    😡 😡

Indeed the point of a forum is to discuss a variety of topics, however there are times when the subject of a thread will upset other forum members who may have been closely involved with some events. The depth of feeling expressed on the Airshow Wrecks thread last night said it all. I for one am glad the thread was removed.

Glad to see you have the Colt back again particularly with the weather being so awful over the weekend, we decided against flying our stuff over the weekend as the runway was so wet and the local viz so bad.
Lets hope this coming weekend is better!!!

Maybe I will see you there then Ewan. Just watch out for a marshaller with no idea what he is doing, that will be me, asuming I ever find the place that is.

Very interesting, I look forward to seeing some pics in the future. Any idea what condition 44-13521 is in?

I’d suggest a scantily-clad wing walker would be your best option. (Female would be my preference)

    Moggy

Now there’s a thought, may need to strap a plank across the top of cabin roof however to stop her sticking her feet through the little windows on the top, last thing I want as I’m flying along is someone standing on my head 😀

I did see the 150 pics at OW, interesting to say the least.

Contributors to this forum, are you a pilot? What do you fly? What’s your three favourite aeroplanes (that you have flown)?

It is rumoured that I am a pilot, however I’m not sure whether anyone on this forum has ever witnessed such a feat. However to date I have only ever flown 3 aircraft and all of those have been 172’s. I have however had a go from the second seat in a Harvard and a Stearman (which I think is the most wonderful way to get around the skies!!).
Maybe one day I may see if I can have a go at flying something other than a 172 but I’m not sure whether the insurance companies can stand the strain (or the aircrafts owner come to that).
Question is, can I get a DA in a 172, and will anybody watch??

Branscombe I believe, not sure what the event is all about and I doubt you will see the 172 there unfortunately (bet you’re sad now!!)

Sorry to cause your heart attack this morning Yak11Fan 😮 . These could be rumors I heard so that is why I ask if it is up for sale. Did you notice the question-mark????

I am 100% shure that I read that Mr. Hammond wants to sell this mustang in the (distant?) future. My guess is that he will sell the Mustang but only when his other P51D Mustang project has reached a further stage of restoration (or even flies).

So, Mr. Hammond will not be without a mustang. I hope you can recover from this shock Yak11Fan and hope you get well soon! 😉

I’m interested to find out where you read this. I think the best thing is to watch this space and see what happens. At what stage of the project do you think he will sell? Any idea how the project is progressing? I’d be interested to see any pictures.

I think it would be a fair bet.

Isn’t Maurice Hammonds P51 up for sale?
    J.V.

What!!!!!!! Up For Sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know the weather was bad at the weekend and the old boy couldn’t fly, but there was no talk of him selling!!!!! It’s a conspiracy I tell you just designed to stress me out on a Monday morning. 😮 😮
This is how rumours start you know. 😮

There will be a variety of aircraft venturing up to Breighton from the south on Saturday and staying overnight, likely to be 2 Mustangs, 2 Harvards and a 172, possibly a Yak 11 as well. The fleet will then be off to Devon on the Sunday, what the timing of this little lot is I don’t know currently. This is all weather dependant of course.

Yak 11 Fan, I just know you’ll be there, what about you Janie?

I will certainly be there from Saturday morning onwards, looks like a great line up again this year, just hope the weather will be kind. Will you be there Ewan?
