What about the P51C a few years ago, the Grumman Cats, the TF51, how did they make it.

How about OFMC’s La9, that seemed to make it into the air very soon after it arrived in the UK.

Or even those Warbirds that have flown the Atlantic in the past and gone onto the circuit almost straight away.

In theory you could operate it for 3 months under it American Certification in the UK.

Having seen this machine at the end of March I think Fighter Rebuilders should be congratulated in getting it completed, they must have put an awful lot of effort into it. Be nice to see it over here.

I may be off the mark here seeing as I am no Spitfire expert but I believe TB252 was sold to an American owner and is now under restoration in New Zealand.

Quite correct, although I don’t think that was actually their fault.

It was due to the wrong type of paint!!

As a railwayman I get used to wrong type of things (snow, leaves etc) and the first thing you do is learn how to pass the buck!!

    Willow

Ah so it’s all your fault then???? I will be on a train on Friday so I may need to have a rant after that. 😮

They were the ones that repainted it with the paint which subsequently fell off!!!!!

Was there a fast jet at Marshall’s yesterday around 3pm? I was in Bury St Edmunds at the time and heard a jet which appeared to head off in a Cambridge direction, unfortunately couldn’t get out of the house in time to see what it was.

Have Janie & JJ got guns fitted in both wings? I only ever see photo’s with one bay open. Has Big Beautiful Doll had the gun treatment yet?

Janie has guns and ammo in both wings, JJ has only got them in one wing, so far the Doll is not fully equipped 😀
Janie also has the gunsight and stock cockpit with nicely concealed modern radios.

I know of two Mustang pilots who have swastika’s on their aircraft who recently went to Germany without getting arrested.

Would anyone notice if the Mustang’s drop tanks went missing?

    Beats walking JDK 😀

A fine bit of kit for getting off the ground and it allows me to build up experience so as I can move on later in the year 😎 Just a shame I have been unable to fly for 10 days now.

No I’d fall off, can’t ride a horse anyway.

Could always miss the Auster out and go straight for the Stearman, that could create a laugh!!!!!

Need to do a few more 172 hours first though before I move on to slower machines.

I presume you mean a long detailed multi continental many hour multi task hands on evaluation as P1 on both types, surely!

Well yes, but need to master one at a time first 😮
