“Go on Ant, have a guess”

    Would it possibly,just possibly be the beautiful,wonderous,most magnificent…Ferocious Frankie?? :p :p
Seriously,I take the hint. Were you on board per chance??

No not guilty this time, I took the 172 into North Weald, where more by luck than judgement met Janie in the circuit at the same time. The Mustang had been down to a display at Aldbourne prior to attending Aerofair.

On the subject of Mustangs, does anyone know which Mustang was flying in the vicinity of St Albans,Herts, last Sunday morning?I was standing in my brother’s back garden and it went directly overhead at 1,000ft+,which coupled with the very bright, glarey conditions meant that I coudn’t make out any markings. The sound and the sillhouette were unmistakeable though!

Go on Ant, have a guess

Congratulations mate. Now if only MG’s were as reliable as Aeroplanes 😀

Face it MOTF, thats never going to happen, the day they become reliable they will have rotten away. :p

I know it’s only a little thing, but the roundels on her still bug me somewhat. How difficult would it be to correct them? Surely a quick visit from Vintage Fabrics would rectify the inaccuracy. (Yes i know it has been covered before, But surely it wouldn’t be that troublesome)

Is Clive the only person who can paint a Spitfire these days then?

Sorry to hear of your problems Moggy, I can’t even offer you a lift as G-DEMH goes on star annual on Tuesday, so I too will be grounded for a little while, however I guess I can work a little harder and push it along a little but alas my trip to Sandown is no longer going to happen.

Well done and all that, just wait until you get to the Nav, the smile soon turns.

Can you please tell me what is wrong with the Nav exam? I took mine recently (as I did all the others) and had no great problem with it at all. Have others had major problems with Nav? Am I just odd in being able to read a map, draw lines on it and operate a whiz wheel?

That will be Peter Teichman then, and how could you forget Rob Davies??? Rob has over the last year or so encouraged and coached a chap in his 20’s (with a good number of hours admitedly) to fly his Harvard with the result of a flypast DA being issued recently. Other pilots around and about are being encouraged by owners to build hours on more common types with the view to being able to ferry rarer aircraft to displays around the country which all helps to get the aircraft seen at different venues.

The East Anglian advatage rule is omnipotent and supercedes all others. and it’s Mrs Trellis from North Wales, by the way. 😀

The East Anglian advantage means that any non aviation persons are quickly removed and become replaced with an improved and more compatible version.

You will be relieved to know that only one Auster was spotted at N.Weald this weekend.

However, Janie (the one with the checkered nose) was there, so it was well worth going. 🙂

Oh was that the graceful looking machine that was in the circuit at the same time as me????????? I was a little busy to take a good look. 😀

Only one Auster? What a shame  , I only saw one Auster as well all weekend, but not at North Weald.

Maurice was up and about Steve (as was I in the 172) guess you were about whilst we were all at Aerofair however.

100,000 Euros (what ever they are worth these days) I believe. Now I fear my old Laguna is worth £2k, so I’m about £58k short, could sell the house I guess and live in the hanger.

I also went to Aerofair today, 45 mins on the way down, 1 hour 25 on the way back, although I did track up the coast on the way home after having a play around with some of G-DEMH’s Nav equipment, thought I’d better try tracking a VOR again just to see if I can still do it. Lovely flight on the way back, very relaxing, all being well I will drag the 172 out again tomorrow night and see how she flies now we have filled the tip tanks up.
Went out Saturday evening as well for an hour or so just to wake the neighbours up and have a go at crosswind landings, so far so good.
