Well I tried lying in a darkened room and drinking beer to cure me of the P51 syndrome, this didn’t work however so now I need to look for alternatives, the latest scheme involved taking a young lady to the hanger in an efforts to be told they are nasty noisy horrible things and that I shouldn’t go anywhere near them however all she said was they look nice and that she could see the attraction, I am however banned from ever wearing a flying suit in her company. So Dr Digby what is the next stage in my treatment?
By the way if anyone would really like to look inside a hanger the doors will be open at 6pm tonight and I will be on hand to accept a £55 donation
I can see your point of view jbs, I have to spend most of the weekend at a wedding (not mine I will add) with the new Mrs Yak 11 Fan however so there will be no aviation in my life at all. Perhaps I will spend every evening in the hanger this week instead just to make up for it all.

A nights worth of beer for 2 😀
Not only did she depart, but she also returned safe and sound this evening.
mmmmm excluding P51s’ who should join the jets eh YAK 11?
So far this weekend I have converted one other person into believing that the P51 is the most graceful maching to have ever taken to the sky (and she has good eyesight before you ask). Now as for these parafin burners being used to clear runways, would that work on grass? Or would that get slightly scorched?
Perhaps due to a lack of warbirds they need a crowd pleaser?
You putting yourself forward for the job?????
They won’t be there! Unless theyve part exchanged there Extra’s for some Spits 😮
Sounds a fair exchange to me 😀
I wouldn’t be surprised if a certain ‘Princess’ makes it.
I didn’t think there were any Austin Princess’s left now, that really would be rare 😮
Has Twilight Tear flown after winter maintenance yet?
I remember getting freebie flights in a Rapide at Duxford in 1980. As a member of D.A.S quite a few flights were available sunday afternoons. that Rapide I believe crashed at Audley End , anybody have a pic of that one?.
I too remember getting the odd flight in the Rapide as a DAS member, the aircraft they used throughout my time there was G-AGTM owned by Mike Russel’s organisation which eventually ended up running off through the IWM’s new car parking idea where they parked cars on part of the live side during one Duxford event (June 87)
The Rapide that tragically crashed in June 91 at Audley End was G-AHGD which was based mainly at Old Warden.
And he only “owned” it for a few months before it was shipped back to the U.S.. Real pity.
and now look at the poor old girl, chopped up and scorching round the Reno pylons, mind you it seems to be a bit quick when the old R3350 holds together.
Be patient. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised what the owner has in store for that little island of yours.
Interesting, how much longer should I wait? :p Do we have another Sea Fury coming to us? Is the owner the same one that was reported in the magazines in the UK?
Don’t really care too much as long as it a safe and enjoyable event for all concerned.
Owns or owned a Sea Fury???? If so I know the gentleman in question
Someone ask for Mustang photos?
