How much of a warbird can you get in exchange for an old Renault and £150? At least I can apparently fly one now though 😀

Lets try it with the 108 first and see what happens.

The old girl regularly gets a fair run up, but runs nice and clean. I will conduct a poll in the hanger tomorrow afternoon, ehether the moderator will allow me to post the result or not is another matter 😉

These old Country Boys get everywhere don’t they, as for the name of the aircraft, it escapes me for the time being, I know exactly where it is though.

At the moment I know that there will be 2 Mustangs and 2 Harvards, I will try to find out more tomorrow.

Try it with the Mustang I’ll break your fingers 😉

Thing is who wants their £1m aircraft to look as though it is unloved?

Wouldn’t the average airshow punter just see it as a scruffy aircraft rather than a meticulously maintained machine?

I can see the point of view of many of the knowledgeable enthusiasts on here, but I am not going to be converted.

I can help with some Sandown participants but not Duxford.

You’re on, see you in the Summer.

Used to visit Sywell a lot as a child and heard many a tale of Wellington’s (I think) around the airfield from my Grandfather who used to a Policeman in the area in the 30’s, 40’s & 50’s. Not been back for a few years now but intend to soon.

They came out of Kemble and headed for Haningfield Reservoir near Chelmsford via Booker and Elstree. Some formation practice was carried out at Haningfield before all three went their seperate ways. Keep your eyes open you never know where you will see them next.

    A pic from the day

T-6’s are wonderful aicraftright up there with the Mustang, Yak 11 and Stearman.

Short Stirlings are ok, so I was told many times by a former flight engineer.

I will visit the Sywell Aviation Museum (and Bruntingthorpe) this year.

Now where do I get the ale?
