Remember Snapper, I don’t do smiling, makes wrinkle lines on my face. As for the pub, I could possibly make it, but…….. I’d like to make it, but……. Life is far to complicated as it is at the moment 😉 Still, nearly Summer 😀

Can’t rely on some people just to stay out of the way can you? We were attempting to drain Little Grandsden of all the fuel we could find at the time 😉 Had to get home somehow.

I may attempt to pop over for a while, unlikely I’ll make the pub though, other than the Merlins over Malta stuff are there any special access arrangements for the day?

Yep thats right, Maurice has owned Janie since 1997 and fully restored her to the condition you see today, as for paint schemes for the project some have been spoken about but it’s a long way off yet.

Big Beautiful Doll is the ex OFMC Mustang now owned (for a similar period of time) by Rob Davies and is in ever improving condition and lovingly looked after.

The best thing is both owners love to fly their aircraft and can often be seen flying about just for the fun of it rather than just at airshows.

And a very fine replica it is too having recently (probably 2 years ago now) undergone refurbishment by it original builders AJD Engineering.

I’m very pleased to see that something is being done with the Catalina at last, I spent a number of hours at Biggin Hill preparing it for the flight to North Weald and was horrified to see it sitting next to the B25 earlier this year and was hoping that a better fate awaited it

Have to see if we can arrange some form of forum gathering on the day (1st August). Chances are I will spend most of Sunday running around like an idiot again, however if I can get away with it I will try to arrange a few hours off to watch at least some of the display this year.

Probably because you have to draw a line somewhere between a one off, or limited run PFA type stuff and a production run of a new type which would need design approval, manufacturers backing etc.

It sounded extremely impressive as Phil Shaw carried out his practice display on the Saturday before Wings and Things last year, not normally a jet person myself but this made me put down what I was doing and stand and watch the entire display.
