    Only been there a couple of times but at the Southern end of the runway the sea appeared to be lower than the ground, maybe cliff is too strong a term but there is (from memory) a drop after you have got bored with the runway and crossed the road.

    Was this the one under restoration at Thruxton a couple of years ago or is that another ex-Empire of the Sun set dresser?

    I think that was another one (G-BJST rings a bell) as I understand it that one is more or less complete now. G-BJST was the one that Jeff Hawke entered into the Luton auction some years ago before withdrawing it (and others).

    I believe this may be the Harvard that is now under restoration at Bruntingthorpe.

    I’ve only been by road, not entirely level and from memory about 800 yards, has a poor old Harvard that lives outside. We were due to fly in there last year, maybe we will give it a go in 04.

    AFC had both and later sold them, along with the Stuka’s to the German Museum. I understand that the aircraft you see today is a composite of the two 110’s.

    I guess there could have been a possibility of it flying had Sir Tim Wallis not had his Spitfire accident.
