    The Flying Misfits?

I chose my pictures for the following reasons:

With the first picture I have finally acheived a decent air to air warbird shot although it lost a little in the scanning process, taken on 7th December 2003.

The second shot from October illustrates that it’s not just big shows such as Duxford where you can get a gathering of warbirds, these three aircraft were / are flown for fun by their owners and happened to gather on a private farm strip where this picture was taken, all three had flown around the skies of East Anglia before arriving at the strip for lunch and were flown again later in the afternoon.

Ah but Chris, you forget that I was there to watch the practice displays at Woodchurch on the Saturday 😉

Very little time was spent with the Mustang on the Sunday, most of it was taken up with marshalling the visiting aircraft and re fueling the display aircraft, good fun, probably the best show I attended all year.

and this, despite what some may say, it’s not often you see a sight like this on a farm strip.

All is not lost however as after AE977 was completed TFC had their Hurricane rebuilt by Hawker Restorations and at least 2 of the current projects are owned by UK based operators 😀

The sad thing is there was nobody prepared to buy it in the UK at the time so away she had to go, at least AE977’s owner does let some of his aircraft come to the UK each year so it’s possible AE977 may come back one day.
